I was majorly influenced by gaming, roleplaying games, and my husband.
He was very into gaming and live-action roleplaying games.
I am also a huge Twilight fan. Even though there aren't any vampires in the A Night without Stars book series (yet!), the Twilight series really defined my decision to write young adults books and focus on the supernatural in my stories.

Keep writing! Even when you feel frustrated or discouraged. Also, forget the "write what you know" rule. Sometimes writing about what you don't know makes for a much more interesting story!

I don't stress over it. I am lucky I hardly ever suffer from writer's block, but when I do, I just relax. Eventually, the words will come. That thought alone reassures me.
