Keep writing, but don't exhaust yourself. Take a break if you need it. Do something else, like reading or writing something else you've been wanting to. Your book will be there when you come back to it. I'm not ashamed to admit that I still write fanfiction for the shows or books I love when I'm feeling depressed or burnt out from writing the books I intend to publish. Writing is writing, so enjoy yourself! You probably started writing because you love it. Don't lose that love by pushing yourself too hard.

This is probably the same thing you've heard from millions of authors already, but just take a break. Read a book you've been wanting to, write short stories that have nothing to do with your work, and just take some time away from the stress. The ideas will flow eventually. And if they don't, just skip that part of the book and write the next scene. You can always come back to it.

I scroll through Tumblr or Twitter and look at prompts from the writer blogs I follow. They've inspired many of the recent short stories on my website. Also dreams. Many, many weird dreams that I just can't help but write down.

My favorite part of being a writer is coming up with the initial ideas then seeing it come to life on paper. Somehow, though, it never quite matches the image in my head, but it still makes me very happy. I also love researching for the books, but that's always been a favorite hobby of mine.

I would definitely travel to Hogwarts and learn magic, sorted as a Slytherin or Ravenclaw of course. Maybe I would become a Charms teaching assistant or a (better) History professor after I graduate. I would also befriend Hagrid and some of his cuter creatures. The rest of the time would be spent in the library soaking up all the knowledge I could.
