When I was thirteen during a long hot summer I found a stone. It was near an overgrown entrance, with rotten lop sided wood hanging from it, which once lead to a passageway underground. I had never seen anything like it. Oval, almost egg shaped, a dusky pink colour with faded purple lines forming a concentric pattern around the shape. I held it in my palm, admiring the soft, coolness of its sides, mesmerised by the mysterious pattern.
I took it home with me and kept it in a secret box under the bed. However it soon became apparent that this was no ordinary stone. The museum couldn't place its origins and I even made the local paper. And so it began....

My dreams throw up some interesting ideas, so does everything I do. Walking down a street, travelling to a new location, standing in the rain. Staring at the ocean, listening to the wind, everything inspires me.

My next book is called 'The Star Man.' As a child the main character was involved in an accident leaving him with a scarred face. However a discovery changes his point of view for ever when he becomes know as the 'Star Man,'

Write, take a month away from your book. Then review, improve, take another month away. Keep at it until you finally know its there and don't be rushed.

Take time out, usually the summer then by Autumn I am bursting with ideas again. I hide away by the fire during the winter months and write as my characters lives unfold, oh and the odd glass of vino helps!
