Sonia Bellhouse I didn't know either of my grandmothers and there are mysteries about both. My paternal grandmother died after falling downstairs, or so I was told. Surely there should have been an inquest? By the time I wanted to ask questions both my parents had died.
My maternal grandmother had lived in India as a child, prior to being placed in an orphanage with her brother, who she never saw again. Her mother, my great grandmother, was called Elizabeth Bennett(Shades of Pride and Prejudice). She was born to a British family in India. She was married at fourteen and left widowed with two children at eighteen. One of those children was my grandmother. Elizabeth married again and had another family. So how did Henrietta my grandmother come to be in a British orphanage?

Sonia Bellhouse Serendipity can step in and forge links where none existed previously. I’m not sure how I linked ice dancing, which I had watched at the Pyeong Winter Olympics, with Vikings. It was probably when I decided to set the story in Bergen Norway. a place I’d visited. As I was thinking about the place, a parallel storyline emerged of a passionate Viking past life relationship. This counterpoints Blaise’s whirlwind relationship with Kristoffer, but are they in danger of repeating past mistakes?
Sonia Bellhouse I have a rough idea for the sequel to Fire and Ice as I found some interesting historical facts and I also wonder what Blaise and Kristoffer’s relationship is like now.

Sonia Bellhouse I think that writer's block stems from fear, so if I am stuck I will not try to force it but will write something completely different.
