I wait and do something else for a while. You've got to enjoy the writing experience, not make it feel laboured, then the reader will have a better experience. I have other interests besides writing - I'm an artist, an art teacher and enjoy travel. I couldn't be a full time writer - far too challenging! Also, you have to be out in the world getting experiences or what will you use for your writing?
