There's no such thing. If you're not sure what to write next, jump ahead to something you are sure of. Or write a bad sentence. Write two, three bad sentences until you get to a better place. The bad sentences can be revised, but by writing them you've got something to work with, rather than nothing.

Write as often as you can. But read just as much. You can learn so much--what you like and, maybe just as importantly, what you don't--by reading other writers. Sometimes that leads to imitation, but slowly you transform the things you love in other writers into something that is genuinely yours.

Right now it's the third book in the D-Bow series. It covers his junior year. The first draft is almost done and, if all goes well, the final version should hit shelves in late 2015.
