I wrote the first draft of my book for my personal use. I needed information that I believed would help me deal with parental challenges. When my wife and I had our first three boys, I was afraid of the unknown for the first time after many years. I was scared. I did not know what to do. I needed to look back on the journey of my life in the hope of finding some pointers for dealing with my parental questions. In the words of Steve Jobs, I wanted to connect the dots in my past, because “you can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.”
