Andrew Vaillencourt For now. The next one is a work in progress right now.
Andrew Vaillencourt Order should be:

Escalante-Ordnance-Hell Follows-Hammers and Nails-Aphrodite's Tears

Also, the Hell Follows cover is incorrect.
Andrew Vaillencourt Not really reading anything this summer. Just writing.

Although I am listening to Dan O'Brien's "How to Fight Presidents."

So far, it's pretty damn funny.
Andrew Vaillencourt How to trap the F&%^king gremlin that's always hiding my car keys.
Andrew Vaillencourt Write anyway. Write crap. Write unmitigated garbage and hate it all. But write anyway.
Andrew Vaillencourt I'll let you know when I feel like a "writer."

Because it wasn't a good job. It's only ever adequate.

If I ever get the point where I don't feel like a bit of a hack, I think my writing will suffer.

Andrew Vaillencourt I really don't think inspiration has anything to do with it. When I have an hour or two, I sit down and write. It's like lifting weights or doing yardwork: You engage in the process (sometimes tedious) to achieve the desired result.

Even though I know that I will either discard or rewrite it all, I just sit down to get the words out of my head.
Andrew Vaillencourt It was a character I had been banging around in my head since I was a teenager.

I struggled with setting and tone for a long time, but then I decided to stick him in a noir setting because I wanted to keep the stakes a little small and the action personal. Mostly because that is what I like to read.

The story wrote itself, after that.
