Start small and realize that the joy in writing is often in the process of creating something that encourages, challenges, or helps others. Think about your purpose for writing - who do you want to communicate to, what would your voice add to a world of a billion other voices, and then start writing with that purpose in mind. Journal, blog, read, and don't lose sight of why you started writing in the first place.

Being able to express and communicate things that many people feel, but don't always know how to put words to it. I love seeing how communicating in a creative and compelling way can bring us together and realize that we aren't as alone as we often think we are. Personally, writing is also therapeutic at times - helping me sort out my own thoughts at the same time.
