Writing has always been in the blood. My mother wrote for the Australian Broadcasting Commission for many years, and encouraged me to write for pleasure quite often.
There are many things in life that inspire a story or a poetic inspiration. Being a dreamer, that has never really been a problem to me.
With my developing relationship with God, this has been greatly enhanced. Everything became much more alive.
I see Him as the original Creative Being, the Bard of Bards.

I have been a big fan of Tolkien's and C S Lewis' works. The role that the great eagles play in "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" were especially inspiring.
I have always admired these magnificent Lords of the Skies, so I gave them each their own persona, their own land, culture, language and code of conduct.
It's a blend of medieval with North American indigenous culture.

There are a few irons in the fire.
I am mainly working on the sequel to "Wings in the Wind..." called "Seasons of the Sun." This takes the story beyond the boundaries of the Land of Mawha, into the realms of the Wild Eagles.
I have left the second part of the "Poor Preachers" on the back burner for the moment. The Lollards are travelling further afield with their message. However, I feel the need for more research (maybe even on site -- on the other side of the globe!) to make the story more authentic to the culture and side issues of the period.
I have also been planning a new series called "The Adventures of the Lollard Knights". This concerns the aristocratic support for the Lollard movement, their activities and struggles.

I have rarely experienced writer's block. If I do, I look back over the manuscript and flesh out any sections as I feel inspired.
If that fails, I leave it altogether and go on with other projects such as animation and multimedia, or just do some outdoor activity.
