I am inspired to write by everything around me. There is so much to experience, and to say about that experience! My particular issues - veterans, the military, the wars in Iraq - are extremely relevant to people's lives. The challenge is to create the context for how those issues affect people's lives.

I have several writing projects lined up. One which I think is particularly timely, is about leadership, specifically toxic leadership. The headlines have been rife with examples of poor leadership that victimizes and traumatizes its subordinates. These incidents are not isolated, but rather symptomatic of how US military leaders are trained and developed. We can, and must, do better.
I am also working on a short story about something that just happened this past weekend. It was a crazy crazy weekend, filled with pathos and love and hockey and a blimp crash, and a Frozen dress-up contest, and more. Seriously.
