When I take the time to open my eyes and really see what's around me, literally and figuratively, I can always find something to write about. HOWEVER, sometimes I have to wait patiently for the subject to reveal itself to me.

Make time to write every day to keep the ink flowing. Don't judge what comes out, just write! The writing process is NOT the editing process, so be sure not to confuse the two. Let the goods come out. You can finesse it later.

I see things!! Ha ha! Seriously, in 2005, I started observing visual metaphors in the most unexpected places and in them, I could see profound life lessons. At first it was startling! I quickly realized I had to start writing them down so I could remember each one. I didn't intend to write a book, I just started journaling these insights for myself. After eight years, I had 366—enough to fill a daily meditation book, even in Leap Year!
"Finding the Gift: Daily Meditations for Mindfulness" is my handbook for living, and I'm happy to share! P.S. I still "see" life lessons all the time, so it seems there will be a sequel.
