I've actually done this. My husband and I visited Forks, which is where the Twilight series is set. We did the Twilight bus tour and traveled to the LaPush beach to watch the sunset. It was an amazing vacation! I would highly recommend doing it!

I'm character driven, so I usually start each novel with a character who won't get out of my head. I let them hang out in my brain for awhile, and then I start writing his/her story.

I don't ever have writer's block. Why? Because I write at the same time every day. Writing is similar to exercise. If you do it consistently around the same time each day, your muscles get used to it and you can get better. When you write this way, your brain gets used to it. I'm a stay-at-home mom, so consistency helps my brain to switch from "mom mode" to "writer mode" much faster.
I also plot my novels before I write them. This helps me know what I'm working on ahead of time and I can be thinking about each scene before I sit down to write.

Start writing. Write at the same time every day. Be okay with typos and misspellings as you write your rough draft. You can always go back and fix those issues later. Don't let anything slow you down from conceiving your precious book baby.

I'm currently working on the plot of my next small-town romance series. It's set in a small fictional town in Montana. I'm also developing all the characters who live there, including minor characters like the town gossip and the sweet old lady who makes the best jam in the county. I'm loving this cast of characters so far and I hope you will too!
