(view spoiler)[Hi Carl, I'm looking for a good copy editor for my novel. I saw your testimonial for Alex Mathews of Book Editing Services. Are you still using her? I took a peak at Voyager, and it appears well-edited as well as written – On my list of next to read :-)
Best,
Tony. (hide spoiler)]

Tony, very sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you! I would thoroughly recommend Alex to you, but she is very busy and you will need to book time well in advance. Best of luck for your publishing journey!

Freedom. And it helps you enjoy the long, slow slide into penury without the stigma of unemployment.

I get all my best ideas in the shower. No idea why!

I stop writing and take a break. I build scale models as a hobby, so I can immerse myself in other things besides writing. It has worked up to now!

I am writing a creepy tale of a crippled warship alone in the Pacific Ocean toward the end of WW2. A young man with a reputation as a lucky sailor begins to incur the suspicion and fear of his shipmates after a miraculous escape from death that kills many of his shipmates. He is bullied and ostracised, but his separation enables him to perceive a strange paranoia that has gripped the other men on the ship, leaving him the only person able to see the disaster that is approaching.

I was building a model of a WW2 destroyer, and doing a lot of research into their appearance, role and equipment. I read many accounts of life aboard these small, ocean-going ships, and realised that the claustrophobic, stuffy atmosphere of these ships alone on an unforgiving and vast ocean like the Pacific lent itself perfectly to a tale of tension, suspense and fear.
