My husband and I went on a cruise for our 10 year anniversary last year. When we were stopped in Saint John, NB we went to a museum that had a section about how important sailing was for the area, and a few displays explained how women and families lived on the ships with their husbands. I had to explore this idea more!

Writer's block is something that's with me a lot, and my way of "dealing" with it is to ignore it. I set time to write, or set word count goals and push through. If the story really isn't flowing I take a walk and close my eyes and really picture what my character would do or say in the situation that's happening in the plot.
