Many of the themes in the dirty money series come from living on the Costa del Sol in Spain for half of the year. It is only an hour or so to Africa in a fast boat and there are regular ferry services to Morocco which makes it the primary route for drug importation into Europe. Everyone seems to have a story and in many ways for a very civilized country it can be a bit like the Wild West! The fire bombing of the lap dancing club is actually true although of course it has been highly fictionalized to form part of the story.

I'm currently working on book two of the Dirty Money series - Retribution. It's close to being finished but I can't seem to stop myself adding a chapter here or there - more discipline needed!
A brief synopsis follows:
The money man behind the fire bombing is exposed and linked to the Russian mafia in Marbella. He has a penchant for beating up women and pays the ultimate price of retribution.
Lynette takes on the task of repatriating funds from Bill’s offshore accounts and Max and Rachel set about repairing their damaged relationship and trying to avoid getting pulled further into the murky world of drugs trafficking and money laundering without success.
