Sometimes I'll toss ideas around with my husband. Other times I grab out a blank piece of paper and start writing ideas, even if they aren't logical or possible. They'll eventually lead to my answer.

Pepita's Heart: The plot, villains, and character names came to me in a dream one night. It was so vivid I remembered it perfectly the next morning and wrote out an important scene just as it had played out while I slept. It was awesome.
