What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?
Jackie Layton It's a mystery why I'm so blessed to live on the coast of South Carolina.

On a sad note, we had a contractor building a house for us, and he disappeared with our money, and we never got the house. Where is he???

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Jackie Layton Sometimes I take my dog for a walk and come back inspired. To be honest, I've never had writer's block for very long.

Jackie Layton Don't give up. It's hard but rewarding. Again, don't give up the dream.

Jackie Layton I'm working on Bag of Bones the third book of A Low Country Dog Walker Mystery series.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Jackie Layton I hired a dog walker when I left town for a couple days. It occurred to me this was the perfect job for a spunky heroine.
