The second book in the GEMS series is just a natural flow - it's a continuation from the story in book one.
My most recent published book is a romance novel, and that idea just sprouted up one day as a scene and it grew from there. I tend to daydream a lot when it's time to start a new story.

That's a good one. If it's time to sit down and write, I write. That's the best answer I can give. I just keep typing and even if it's not pretty, I will keep going to meet my word count.
Sometimes, I know I need to finish a scene, but if there's a part I don't want to get into in the first draft, I will put the words "come back later", knowing I will need to come back later and finish it.
