Walter Harp Hmmm... Well, I'd have to say the mystery of what happened to Johnny Gosch, who was kidnapped in 1982 in Des Moines, Iowa, when he was just twelve as was I. Back then--back before the days of Amber Alerts--we kids were free to bike the neighborhoods, stay out late, venture across town on our own. Obviously, that has since changed. There is far more concern about child kidnappings these days and, as a result, kids are kept closer under the wing. Johnny has stayed in my mind since.

Now, there's been a documentary made. That said, I think a fictional mystery could be written of this. The combination of the cultural era as well as the incident itsef, I think, could make for an interesting read.
Walter Harp Gosh--that's a good question. I'm a big non-fiction reader, so fiction is tough for me to draw on unless, perhaps somewhat embarrassingly, I look to the cinema or TV. So... probably not the most sophisticated answer--but if I were to be 100% honest? I like all of the adult couples on the TV series Modern Family. At least to date. The writing and acting is good.
