Luke P. Narlee Jake Barnes and Lady Brett Ashley from The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway. I just love the tragic romance between them. They share such a delicate, mostly unspoken love and it's beautifully written. If you'd like to read more of my thoughts on these characters, check out my review of the book here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Luke P. Narlee The book is titled Guest Bed because the most pivotal scene in the story is centered around the guest bed that is located inside the protagonists house. But more importantly, the guest bed also symbolizes many of the themes in the story, such as temptation, loneliness, and adultery.
Luke P. Narlee Reading. If I can't write, I always read. Find a good book to read that inspires you. It will make you a better writer. And I guarantee you'll be writing again in no time.
Luke P. Narlee Having the ability to create entire worlds and people on your own, and then share it with others. Above all else, I am excited to have conversations with people about my book, the characters in it, and the choices they make. There's a lot of grey area to explore, and I want nothing more than to do so with my readers.
Luke P. Narlee Don't ever quit on yourself, even when you're overwhelmed. It's easy to feel like you'll never see it through to the end, because it's a lot of work. But you can do it. You just have to set realistic goals and believe in yourself. Also, write what you love. If it's something that touches you personally, then it's likely to touch others as well.
Luke P. Narlee Book one of a dystopian/sci-fi trilogy that I've been working on for years, called "The Appointment." It involves a paranoid country, a nationwide banning of entertainment, people losing their memories, as well as their ability to feel emotions, and the mystery of why it's happening. It will feature dream realms come to life, people living through others, and above all, the deep yearning for love that everyone feels at one point of another in their lives.
Luke P. Narlee I'm always inspired to write. Being alive inspires me to write. But it's what happens on any given day that inspires new ideas for a story.
Luke P. Narlee Mostly from life itself and being married. I wanted to capture the realities of marriage after a few years, as well as some of the differences that couples tend to run into, in a way that readers could relate to, while also making it an entertaining mystery.
