There's a certain type of exhaustion that happens with writing, and it's a good exhaustion. It's one of those deep, complete, satisfied exhaustions that empties your brain of all thoughts, stops the looping and worrying and anxiety and just allows you to feel complete.

Funnily enough a dream. A few of my ebooks have started with a dream of just a single scene, usually what becomes the opening scene of my novel. And it's so vivid I write it out and then everything just goes from there.

It's not so much inspiration as enjoyment. For as long as I remember I've enjoyed writing and done it for fun in my spare time. It was only a couple years ago that I actually decided to force myself to sit down and write about only one thing until it was complete. And that became my first ever novel. Before The Legends.

Don't stress. Purposefully take a few days off, ignore your notebook or computer. Go out, have an adventure, laugh with friends. Give your brain a proper rest, then, sit down and hash it out. Write words, bad words, good words, doesn't matter, just write something.

Finish a book, even if it needs a thousand re-writes and edits, just finish. There's a feeling of accomplishment that comes with finishing your first book that makes you realize it is possible, you just have to keep at it. That was all the inspiration I needed to find the diligence and dedication to keep going.

I am currently working on a second Aso Sierra book, though it doesn't necessarily take place after the first and also a new full length novel following a barbarian princess attempting to claim her ancestral throne.
