Jasmine Silvera Thank you! I'm delighted by the response to Dancer. I'm currently finishing the sequel "Dancer's Fire" to be released this fall, which continues Azrael and Isela's story as they make new allies (and enemies). But in the meantime, you can read "Best Served Cold" a short story set in the world of Death's Dancer by downloading the free anthology "Summer Solstice: Short Stories from the Worlds of KP Novels." http://smarturl.it/Solstice_KP_Antholog
It's a mini-adventure featuring Gregor and an unlikely partner settling scores in magical Prague.
Jasmine Silvera I'm kicking off my summer reading with my book club's next pick: Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. Then I'll be starting one epic fantasy series (The First Law by Joe Abercrombie) and finishing another (The Gentlemen Bastards by Scott Lynch). I'm also excited to get into two novels by local authors: Nisi Shawl's Everfair, and The Seer by Sonia Orin Lyris. And because I'll always have time for a little romance, Eva Moore's Girl's Night Out books are waiting on my Kindle!
Jasmine Silvera Finish what you start! To quote the estimable Neil Gaiman: “Whatever it takes to finish things, finish. You will learn more from a glorious failure than you ever will from something you never finished.”

At some point, if you're serious about what you've created, hand it over it to people smarter (and with better grammar) than you in exchange for beer, wine or chocolate and beg for their feedback. Put on your thick skin and listen when they give it (Pro-tip: take notes the entire time if eye contact is too painful) Resist the urge to defend yourself, your writing or your chocies. Just LISTEN and maybe ask follow up questions.
(No, "Are you sure you didn't like that bit, cause I thought..." is not a good follow up question)

Most importantly, write.
Write.
Write.
Every day if you can. Set goals and meet them (tip: at first, make them small enough goals that you can BLAST through them to build up your confidence). When you don't meet your goals (and you won't once in a while) forgive yourself, shake it off and keep moving forward. Onward!
Jasmine Silvera READ everything I can get my hands on. Listen to new music. Watch a lot less TV than most people I know.
Jasmine Silvera Stretchy pants. Or pjs. Or no pants at all.

All are acceptable work attire.
