That's a hard question to answer. The couple that came to mind almost immediately were Four and Tris from Divergent. I think it's because I'm attached to Four. Tris bugs me a bit, but their relationship is sweet.

Pie. Chocolate milk.
If that doesn't work, I read something that stimulates me. I take a break from it for a while. Sometimes that's an hour, a day or a week. I haven't ever gone more than a week.
Also, interviewing my characters can get me through a hurdle with a particular chapter.

Pure creativity. A fiction book is all you. Everything comes from your brain. I love pure creativity mode.

Write. Write. Write.
Read.
Write some more.
When you feel like giving up, put it down. Take a nap, walk around the block, eat some pie, and then come back to it the next day.
But never give up.

I enjoyed writing as a teenager. Whenever we had a creative writing assignment in school, I was all over it. I typically turned in four to five times the required amount. My teacher encouraged me to write, write, write!
Once I was out of school, I mostly focused on writing poetry, when I had the time to be creative. I have a rare publication of one of my poems. I don't think it was a well-circulated book. It was more of a promotion to get my money instead. At the time, I told myself "at least I'm published!"
Well, it wasn't really published. Especially if nobody reads it. A few years ago, I decided to pick writing up again. I joined a writing group in my small town. I started a book that's still in its construction phase. They told me about NaNoWriMo.
That's when I really took off. I did the NaNo in November of 2014 and barely finished the 50,000 words. I then did Camp NaNo in April 2015 and did the first draft of Construct 11. I worked on it again in July 2015 and once again in Nov 2015. That time, I finished with 138,000 words and had a decent fifth or sixth draft of Part 1, a first draft of Part 2 and a little bit of sketching of Part 3.
That's when the bug bit me. On December 1st of last year, I started the editing process of Part 1. It's been something I do everyday (except most Sundays) for at least two hours. Now, it's become a full time 'hobby'.

Currently, I am working on the second and third books in the Construct 11 Series. Part 2, Trust and Loyalty, is in the author-editing phase. I should be able to turn it over to my editor mid-January 2017. I'm hoping to have it to the Beta readers by mid-March 2017. If things go as planned, I see a publishing date of end of May, beginning of June....

On a radio program, I heard about these buildings in China. A particular company--typically a large, industrial one--owns a skyscraper. The bottom few floors is where their workers preform the necessary labors. A cafeteria and perhaps some entertainment occupies a floor above that. The top floors is where the workers reside.
It's a win-win situation, right? The company provides what the workers need, the workers don't have to worry about shopping for food or paying rent. No one is ever late for work and the weather can't create issues for them either. Perfect. Except they had to install net at the top of the buildings because people were jumping from the roof. It seems, since the people didn't ever have to leave the building, they were becoming depressed. They felt trapped.
I got to thinking about that, wondering what it would take for a group of individuals to be willing to subject themselves to this situation. What if the government provided this 'opportunity'? What would they have to do to keep these people from leaving?
Ta-da! A book. Well, at least the beginnings of one.
