Like anything else worth pursuing in life, writing has its pitfalls -- more often than not. It's a lonely profession and only a handful go on to realize commercial success. Similar to the lottery (you can't win unless you buy a ticket), the same principles apply to writing: you can't succeed until you put your first word to paper.

The best thing about being a writer is the freedom and fulfillment that accompanies the writing process. Writing allows you to unleash ideas inside that otherwise would be trapped. To me, it's therapy from the grind of daily life and allows you to script your reality word by word.
