I got the idea for The Seekers (Book #2 of The Guardian Chronicles) about five years ago when I was creating a story about a young woman who arrives in a devastated kingdom whose king had just been murdered. Over the years, as I was finishing The FBI Chronicles and starting The Guardian Chronicles, the plot filled out and fixed itself into what it is today.

Inspiration strikes at the oddest of times. I can be reading, watching a movie, listening to a song, or talking to a friend when the random burst of inspiration strikes me. It just really depends on the time of day.

The best thing about being a writer is being able to put my crazy ideas, my funny thoughts, my own characters onto paper and out in the world for others to see and get to know. It's nerve-wracking, but when I see people enjoying it, it makes everything worth it.

When I get a bout of every writers' evil nemesis, I turn to my favorite books and music that inspire me. If that doesn't help, I take the drastic step of deleting the last few pages of that chapter and re-writing it until I get past it.
