Meghan J. Ward For me, the best thing about it is how I can use daily life as inspiration and fodder for writing. Life is greatly enhanced this way. There is both the experience and the present moment, and then there is the opportunity to unpack that experience and learn from it through the writing process. I often feel like I have a second brain going for how I'd describe something I'm experiencing. Of course, at times I need to mute this so that I can be in the moment, but it's often a fun exercise to be living it, knowing it may lead to some wonderful written work down the road.
Meghan J. Ward I've never had much success trying to push through writer's block. My process involves a lot of trust because sometimes it involves waiting until I feel a spark (even as I'm approaching a deadline). The best advice I received was to get up, move around, and let your brain go into its default thinking mode instead of trying so hard. At times, our brains need this mode in order to problem solve and help us work through the blockage without us interfering! So, that's when I'll plan some time out in nature, peace and quiet, or even a distraction. Do something where you can switch your thinking mind off and see what happens. Just have a notepad ready; I've been caught off guard sometimes when inspiration strikes.
Meghan J. Ward My advice is not to be deterred or discouraged by imposter syndrome. There will always be people who seem like they've got it all figured out. The truth is, many writers are flying by the seat of their pants. Even the most established writers doubt themselves and feel inadequate.

Whenever I'm true to myself and true to my own style I find readers are more responsive, sometimes touched or inspired. This is the voice I often feel inclined to suppress when I compare myself to others. And yet it's the one that resonates most with readers.

So keep working at it and keep writing. Learn from others and allow yourself to feel inspired. Then, focus on what you can uniquely offer and give it your very best.
