Wesley and Buttercup. As much as I love the movie "The Princess Bride," I love yhe book more. William Goldman wrote an amazing book, and those two characters together were perfect!

I love reading. I've loved reading for as long as I can remember. Literally. My first memory is reading a book called "Fairy Find-out."
So, when I can't write, I read. Anything. Any genre. Whatever I can get my hands on. Laughing. Crying. Getting scared. Even learning something I never knew. Before I know it, I'm off and running again.

The "Love a Woman in Uniform" series of stories will all be about strong, smart, amazing women who have chosen to make serving their country part of who they are.

My better half has said for years that I have a split personality. This may be because I have conversations with myself. A lot of times, it's things I wish I had said when I had the chance. When that happens, and it's something I think is really good or that I keep replaying in my head, I'll write it down. I've found those little snippets of non-conversations can turn into chapters pretty quickly.
It doesn't hurt that I might, indeed, have a split personality. Or two.

Because I served in both the Marine Corps and the Navy as a military journalist, I spent 20 years meeting hundreds, if not thousands, of amazing women and men who had even more amazing stories to tell. The specifics for this book, though, come largely from my experiences. Like a lot of my fellow service members, I have PTSD and have had to learn to live with making mental health a priority.
For me, making my first story about that important aspect so many of us face was too big a draw for me to miss.
