Hi Sarah, thanks for the questions. To your first question, I would say that both Laura Gallego and Christopher Paolini are definite the guilty authors who made me want to write as well.
To your second question, I could probably go forever replying to it. So long story short, I would say that two main things drove me to write "Cries of Blood". One of them being some personal real experiences I had during my three years shooting Spanish TV series "Física o Química". Not that anything in the book actually happened to me, thanks God, but what I lived those three years inspired me for a story and certain characters. The second thing, unfortunately, it was a horrible mental depression I suffered while living in London – like I guess many people do living there –. Writing this book was the most precious thing I had at the time, and in a way actually helped me to develop Eva's character as she does have her own mental health issues.

Hello, Alice. I'm glad you enjoyed the book :) In regards the second part, I'm actually working on a little "break" book of short stories... but one of them is a little story about a specific character in "Cries of Blood" which kind of works as a bridge to the second part. I hope to release this new book this year, likely end of the year.

I've never been good at the begining of a story, so i just dont think too much about it. Once I'm around page 20 the own characters come alive and take over my fingers, and later on i go back to the begining and change anything i think it's horrible.

First: read a lot and a bit of everything. You never know what writing style or genre you are going to go for.
Second: write a lot, preferably around 10-30 mins a day and share it with friends, family and class mates/work mates. Constructive critisism is what is going to let you know what is liked about your author style and if what you write is likeable.

I'm working on the translation into English of "Llantos de sangre" ("Cries of Blood" in English), but i have in mind since a long time ago a dystopia about what i think (maybe in a tiny bit exagerated way) is going to be the future of humanity.

2. My step-grandmother (it's a long story) once told me that she used to walk barefoot through the mountains and her small village in Asturias, Spain, what made me want to write a book with a character of a child introduced in the story being barefoot.
3. The mayority of my favourite scary/thriller/suspense films are Spanish and in all of them it seems to always be a child character. For that reason I decided to write a story having all of my favourite films in mind.
