duane t. rygh After 20-years of service, I draw loosely from my experiences in the military and move them in to a science-fiction setting as I outline two novels, Battlemind and Blood in the Stars. These stories will take place in the same fictional universe.
duane t. rygh I am working on my second poetry collection, The Last Mermaids of Jeju Island. Beethoven said the price of destiny was submission, absolute submission to your fate. As our world grows smaller through the robust use of technology, many traditions of the past are becoming marginalized. The past, present, and future are all intertwined however a future generation marches forward with little knowledge or need for the past. The Last Mermaids of Jeju Island explores how this type of present day mindset can shape the future, for better or worse.
