There is a mystery in my family about a relative who was made pregnant by the Lord of the Manor in a well-known part of Wales. I am told she walked from Wales to Liverpool with no money. I have been researching her story and will be aiming to make it book four. It will make a good story I think.

I have to do a lot of 'morning thinking.' I'm often awake earlier than my husband and I use the time to think deeply about plots and short stories.
You really need a clear head and space to think through writer's block. If I'm still struggling I write something, anything to get me going.

I didn't have to think to hard about this. It would be Heathcliff and Cathy. The depth of their love for one another defies our understanding. 'Eternal like the rocks below.' How many of us experience passion like that in a lifetime and yet, as far as we know, Emily Brönte never knew real love? It is a mystery how she could write like that with so little life experience and it is still my favourite book of all time, followed closely by Rebecca.

From an article in The Daily Mail! I stumbled upon it when I was researching The French Resistance. I read about a certain residence in Paris and saw the accompanying pictures. It made me curious and I began to research Paris during World War II. Marrying my passion for The French Resistance with what I found out led to The Seven Letters. I won't say more I love my readers to uncover the mystery without spoilers!

I have wanted to write a novel since I was six. I was always an avid reader but every time I picked up a book I found myself saying, 'I want to write as well as read.' In the end I had the time and opportunity and I began to write.

My next novel, it's based in my village and world war two Paris. I've written part one, but have no idea what happens in part two and I'm dying to know.

Developing characters. Feeling them form in your head and then getting to know them. Having a book published means you're releasing them to the world and you want readers to like them, or dislike them like you do.
