Make yourself write anyway. Even if it's terrible, sometimes forcing through is the way to find the answers you were looking for.

Replace 'swimming' with 'writing' and you'll be golden.
You have to write every day, or at least think about writing every day. And when you're not writing, read. Read as much as you can. Read until your eyes bleed and then keep reading.
Natural talent isn't enough. You need to have the discipline and the drive to create and it's the only way for you to get any better at your craft. The amount of people I've known that like the idea of being a writer but simply don't have the discipline to actually do it is more than you might think.
