D.C. Fergerson They told Mike to cremate his wife, that it was the right thing to do. As the banging on the door began, he understood why.
D.C. Fergerson I sit down and try to picture where I'm going in the story. I need to see it like a little movie in my head. Once I have a clear direction, I just go for it, sit down, start typing, and see where it goes. Sometimes I binge and write 8-10k words in a single session, other times I can write 2000 and delete it all.
D.C. Fergerson Write, then write some more, then write again. Take criticism seriously. Nothing you write is set in stone or made of gold.
D.C. Fergerson I'd love to take full credit, but every book of The Wicked Instruments comes directly from a long-running Dungeons and Dragons campaign that I ran. That fact, in particular, is why every character in my books has a unique and distinct voice.
D.C. Fergerson I love bringing people into my warped little fantasy worlds. I love to tell stories and get people engaged. Most of all, I love to make people laugh.
D.C. Fergerson I'd be a liar if I said I get writer's block all that often. I've been very lucky in that regard. When I'm having a tough time with the work I'm putting out, I try to find what is fundamentally good about it and delete the rest.
D.C. Fergerson Book 3 of The Wicked Instruments. It's called Goblins, Parents, and Other Monsters. Should be out this summer.
