All the books- not enough time!!
At the top of my list is Hidden Figures, I also want to read Elie Wiesel's 'Night',
I want to re-read The Piano Shop on the Left Bank,
and in Romance.... I'll be surfing for romcoms this summer!

Gosh, you know this is SO hard! There are so many couples I love for so many reasons. Although they're not 'fictional' per-se, I think one of my first favorite couples was Laura Ingalls and Almanzo Wilder. They captured my young imagination about what true love and romance were like. Followed very quickly my Meg and Calvin from A Wrinkle in Time, and Anne & Gilbert in the PEI Series. Incidentally, I honeymooned on PEI :)
I also loved the tragic Jane Eyre and Mr Rochester.
I think the common thread between these women, is their strength of character and their deep sense of self. And I think I can see how that's influenced the characters I write. They're not romantically perfect. They're flawed... human. But strong, and with a strong sense of who they are and their place in the world.
In terms of contemporary romance, I LOVE the couple in Juliana Stone's Offside- a fun hockey romance w/ a strong heroine and a sexy alpha male. I also LOVE the couples in RL Matthews Neighbor from Hell series. They're everyday couples and the heroes are *hilarious* big strong alphas who love to eat. I love Matthews' sense of humor. Her books make me laugh outloud. I also love the Madmen type series about the Space Race by Emma Barry & Genevieve Turner. I have a think for geeks, and these books are about sexy as sin geeks (both men & women) involved in the Space Race. The writing is gorgeous and inspiring. I'm also loving Zoe York & Sadie Haller's Frisky Beaver series. They're written in the first person, and the characters are hot, hot, hot. Strong characters who fight for their love. Start with Prime Minister. For super sexy snark and loveable anti-heroes, I love Dakota Grey's books- Perv, Filth, and I think she's got another one out. All excellent reads :)
See??? too many to choose from :) I'm sure I'll think of more as soon as I close the tab.

In the car, driving on a road trip. I get my best ideas while driving. "Scope for the Imagination"- to quote Anne of Green Gables :)

I power through. If it's really bad, I'll brainstorm, take a walk, or add an alien invasion. That always gets the mojo flowing again.
