Kayisha Thomas I would go to the all white, filtered air, extremely clean house in the book Everything, Everything. I have allergies, so I would enjoy a day/ 24 hours of pure relaxation and no worries of a possible allergic reaction. I would sing and dance, cook and eat, read, pray and sleep. Sounds simple but I'm quite sensitive, so one day without my allergies being a problem would be great.
Kayisha Thomas There are many wonderful things about being a writer but I'll name two. The best thing about being a writer (number 1) is being able to write from your heart, having absolutely positive intentions about what you're writing, the goal you have for your work, and knowing that your words will have great impact. (Number 2) is hearing the feedback! When people begin to express how your writing is speaking to them, reassuring them, spreading positivity and changing their life. Oh my! That is the best thing about being a writer.
Kayisha Thomas I get inspiration from my walk with God, from my life experiences, from things going on in the world, from photos, from music and from my imagination/creative mind. The minute something inspires me and I get an idea I write it down, email it to myself, create a reminder and then I use it to write. I find it difficult to let ideas go to waste because that one thing could help at least one person and I would have missed that chance.
Kayisha Thomas I'd say an aspiring writer should just start writing. If you procrastinate you will just keep putting it off; so get a notepad or a Microsoft word document and start. Make notes of all the things you have in your mind that you would like to include in your book, because it's very easy to forget them. Once you have notes and topics etc you can start expanding on them, do your research and as you progress you'll have ideas for the structure and the layout of your book and then keep going.
Kayisha Thomas As a dedicated Christian, I find it extremely important to be in the word of God daily, to spread light, love and inspire others so I started sending small faith based/ inspirational messages on Whatsapp/ via text message every day. The group of people I sent the messages to started growing/ people were forwarding them to others and now I have the Kayisha Online mailing list with subscribers from around the world. I felt like a book would reach an even bigger audience and continue to spread the positivity that I share daily in the smaller messages and emails, but on a larger scale.
