I wanted to write something that would help people affected by Central Sensitization and Sensitivity Syndromes, and would teach medical professionals about them. So it would be a serious book, I knew, but I wanted it to be uplifting and inspiring, as well as informative. Having these conditions can be very challenging, and I vowed that the book would be light in tone, with as many puns and chuckles as I could weave into it as possible (while still sounding like I knew what I was talking about! :-)

Luckily, I'm always inspired. I just need the brain power and the energy, and awayyyy I go! :-)

Because of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, my brain doesn't work as quickly or as well as it once did, so I don't tend to write much these days. But I piece together essays about my adventures with my chronic illness, a little at a time, when I can. And I enjoy working without words when symptoms are high and after months and months of piecemeal work have recently launched Titan Amy's Art Shop at http://titanamy.threadless.com. This is a gift and clothing shop based on my artwork that donates 50% of profits to research, treatment facilities, and advocacy groups for Central Sensitivity Syndromes such as ME/CFS, MCS, and Fibromyalgia.

Keep writing, no matter who tells you you aren't good enough. Even if you are telling yourself you aren't good enough. Keep writing. And keep reading works by people who inspire you.

Having an excuse to learn random things. I'm insatiably curious, and being a writer means that when a friend finds out I'm learning about something random, say, how to trap moths in a forest, I can say, "oh, it's for a writing project..."

Happily, that has never been my problem. :-) I have always had more ideas than time or energy.
