J.T. Fisher All of my books are either directly or indirectly inspired by my own life experiences, whether good or bad. My original intention was to blog about how sad the empty nest left me, but the experience morphed into a more reflective and happy reminiscence of being a mom! I actually dropped some of the cutest stories into some of my books at times when I needed to add some comic relief. The book I'm working on now is actually about two miscarriages I had before my two kids were born.
J.T. Fisher A story about a woman who deals with two miscarriages by researching and actually getting a doctorate in religion and philosophy, having been haunted by the question of where the souls of her two lost children ended up.
J.T. Fisher Start with writing what you know.
J.T. Fisher I once heard Maya Angelou say that she held the pain in so long, and writing was the only way she could let it out. I used a journal to come to terms with my pain, and realized how much better I felt. Now, I just cast off my problems, trials and tribulations to a fictional character, and let her deal with it. More often than not, she finds the solution!
