Jackie Warren Tatum Thanks for this question. I did not see it until now. I apologize for the delay in answering.

I journal regularly and think about writing often. Sometimes I do quite a bit of writing in my head watching the people in an audience or sitting in my screen room with nature. I may jot down some train of thought or a description of something I've seen. That may show up later on paper.

I don't push myself to type a certain amount of words at a certain time. I may work for hours on my second novel or the piece I am presently writing to submit for an anthology. Then I lay it aside and let it simmer, like soup.

It took me seven years to write Unspeakable Things a novel.
