Charlene, My son and I recently left a splinter of The Way International. Thirty -six years for me, ten years for my now fourteen-year-old son. It's been scary. Your books have been so healing and helpful. Thank you so much! I would like to email or write to you, but I can not seem to locate your email address on any of the sites. And my question is, how can I reach you? I would love to share my story with you.

Thank you for your message and for appreciating my work. While I can sympathize with what must have been a challenging journey out of a TWI splinter group, I'm retired now from accepting emails or calls about The Way or its offshoots.

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?
Charlene L. Edge I already wrote that book, Undertow. The mystery it solves is how a young woman could get caught in a cult and then figure out how to escape it.

How do you get inspired to write?
Charlene L. Edge Even though I'm retired from a day job, I call writing my work. Any inspiration I get seems to come when I'm in the process of writing.

What are you currently working on?
Charlene L. Edge Some flash fiction stories. Love the brevity. Love the form, which I view as a marriage of poetry and short story. I have to make every word matter, and leave a lot of the story up to the reader's imagination to fill in the blanks.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Charlene L. Edge Life is short. If you want to write, then do it.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Charlene L. Edge I feel most independent when I write, which I crave to feel. And I get a chance to revise what I say before sticking out my neck in print. I can take my own time.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Charlene L. Edge Since I believe writer's block is just fear and anxiety ("just" is an understatement on some days), I nudge myself into a chair, pick up a pen or set my fingers on the keyboard, and write what's on my mind, then go from there.
