Hi Tawnya, Sorry for the lack of reply! I'm hardly ever on GR, so my apologies that I didn't see this until now. Playing with Fire became Part 1 of the book Firecracker, so you can read it as contained together with that story. Thank you and all the best!

Hi Aleks! Thanks for the question. I don't currently have any more Targa stories on my production schedule. There is a chance that I will continue the PLM series, and she could have a cameo in that, but at the moment I am focusing on a trilogy for Petra's character called A Trespass of Angels, which isn't mermaids (sorry). Thank you for spending some of your reading time with me, I really appreciate it!

Hello Roselyn, You can find the recommended reading order here: https://www.alknorrbooks.com/reading-...
Bones is written so that new readers should't feel too lost, but I am sorry if you are feeling that way.

Hi Adriana, thanks for the question. Targa will appear in the Arcturus academy series, and the third book, which is currently scheduled to release on Dec 15, will be pulled ahead to the second week of November, as it is currently in the editing stage.

Hi Lillian, thanks for the question. Yes, I absolutely intend to continue Saxony's story. She'll get at least another trilogy!

Hi Missi, Thanks for asking, and I'm so glad you're loving the series! Born of Air is in development but is being written alongside one other project. My goal is to launch her by the fall. I apologize that I can't be more specific but I'll release a date after the first draft is completed. If I give a date before that then it seems to be asking the writing gods for things to go wrong, lol. :D

Hi Bianca, Thanks for the question and I'm so glad you've enjoyed my books! Born of Æther is in a first draft stage and will be shortly going into editing. It will be published by June. If you like you can read an excerpt by visiting my website at the link below. Akiko's story takes place mostly in Japan, and Æther in my mythology is 'spirit'. I'm excited to share the story with you!

Probably Jaime and Claire from Outlander. Their love grows slowly and realistically but then becomes so intense and believable. I love the way Gabaldon makes you feel their passion and devotion to one another, and yet they don't feel cliched or smarmy.

Hi Amber! Thanks for the question and the compliment. My characters are often a mashup of people I imagine, myself, and people I know. I work hard on my empathy skills, to really feel what someone else might be feeling in a situation and put myself in their shoes. I think empathy is one of the most important things to cultivate in ourselves, our children, and especially for authors. It's the reason my bad guys are never all bad, and my good guys are never all good - because no one is like that in real life.

Living in Venezia inspired Born of Fire in a pretty significant way. Fire and Venice have a sordid past, and tying it into my Elemental Origins Series came naturally.

Reading others work, watching movies, travelling, visiting museums, watching documentaries,...anytime there is stuff going into my brain instead of coming out I get inspired.

Writing Born of Earth, and Plotting for Born of Æther, and Born of Air.

Recognize that your first draft will always suck, and that it's okay. Writing really is in the rewriting.

Readers telling you they couldn't put your book down.

I start to ask my characters questions and flesh out their back story more fully, the writer's block always goes away because something that opens up another window comes up.
