Write, write, write. Exercise that writing muscle so it becomes stronger. Don't expect all your writing to be great...but know that the more you write, the more often you will find those beautiful moments when you see you have a gem in there.
Also, the more you write, you will find your authentic voice. While you can look to mentors and "the greats" for inspiration and guidance, you should only be yourself when you write. I found my voice by allowing my soul to spill upon the pages. I said things I would never have said out loud before. At first, my words were only for me...but when I felt ready, I shared them with those I trusted. I saw how I could affect others in a positive way. My voice was valuable, valued, and unique. Readers don't want to hear iterations of author voices...they want to hear yours.

For the material I write, I get most inspired when I think of my reader. If I know that what I have to share can help, inspire, or bring joy to that person...I'm so excited to have him or her read it! It's like when you read a soul-filling book and can't wait to tell your friends so that they too can have that experience. That opportunity inspires me to write.

I kept hearing people say that they wanted to make a change in their life. They felt they were meant for something more but weren't sure what or how to get there. I had dealt with the same feeling of knowing there was a purpose I was missing, so I understood the frustration and saw there was a need for a guide in how to live one's best life. If I could help even one person with my book to be inspired, empowered, and galvanized to go for their Big Dream Life and achieve it...all I had ever been through would be worth it.
