An error occurred while sorting questions for author Jessie Janowitz.
In "The Doughnut Fix" series, Tristan's friend's name is Josh Bell. This is the exact same name as the main character from the book "The Crossover" by Kwame Alexander. Was this intentional or a coincidence?
Jessie Janowitz Complete coincidence! I actually have "The Crossover" on my TBR list but haven't gotten to it yet. I just read Kwame Alexander's new picture book "Undaunted" though, and I highly recommend it for all readers, adults and kids. Thanks for reaching out!

Jessie Janowitz Creating something that is both entirely new and personal yet resonant and universal at the same time.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Jessie Janowitz By allowing myself to write badly. I believe that writer's block isn't not having any ideas. It's having ideas we fear are no good. Give yourself permission to write badly. That's the only way through to finding the magic that lies on the other side!
