Well Losing Juliet is loosely based on a road trip I made to France in the eighties. Using that all-important What If ...? question I began to shape the plot asking: 'So what if this happened?' 'What if that happened?'

Good question ... spontaneous ideas, characters, elements of a plot, snippets of dialogue ... all these can pop into my head at any time. Eventually there's a story demanding to be told. You can't fight the urge to write.
