Thank you! That was a fun one to write! I'd very much enjoy turning that into a full-length story, and it will be one of the top three that I pitch for my next women's fiction projects later this year. So, the short answer is, hopefully, yes! :)

Hi Stacey, thank you! And good news, yes there are more planned in the series. I'm just wrapping up revisions for Rescue Me #6, and it features Ava's story. (I was split between telling hers and Yun's stories next). With the women's fiction releasing between books 5 and 6, there will be a delay, but expect #6 in Jan 2022.

The fourth book in the Rescue Me series is LOVE AT FIRST BARK and comes out in late July (2019). After that, there are two more scheduled for this series at this time. Still lots of fun stories to tell about the High Grove Animal Shelter staff, volunteers, and animals!

Often I have a hard time pinning down when the seed of a story begins. Most of my characters and major plot points grow from whispers of disjointed ideas until they are morph into something solid enough to demand their place in a story. In MY FOREVER HOME, Tess and Mason pair up to catch a free-roaming stray dog. My idea for this dog began more than twenty years ago in a personal encounter with a stray who was roaming the streets near my work. My interaction with this resilient dog was powerful enough that he has held a place in my heart for a long time.
By writing about John Ronald, the fictional stray who’s named by Mason after the line “Not all those who wander are lost” by J.R.R. Tolkien, I felt as if I was finally giving this real-life wanderer a bit of the praise he deserved. My wish to tell John Ronald’s story was the seed idea for MY FOREVER HOME, and then characterization for Tess and Mason came easily as I mulled over who’d be best be able to bring John Ronald's story to light.

That's wonderful to hear! The second book, Sit, Stay, Love, is complete and in the editing stage. It has a release date of May, 2018, and features many of the characters, human and animal, from A New Leash on Love.
And please check back in. I'm planning a short-story release of Megan and Craig's wedding in January, 2018.

I've been writing long enough that inspiration to write abounds. My best writing inspiration usually comes from having the time to mull over thoughts and ideas while on commuting to work or on hikes with my dogs.

Right now, I'm in the early stages of writing the third book in the Rescue Me series and hammering out the first chapter. Although the further into a manuscript I get, the easier words flow, I still LOVE writing that first chapter. I'm taking a quick hiatus though to complete revisions on book two of the series, Sit, Stay, Love, which is scheduled to be released in May, 2018.
