Marie Moreton At the moment I'm planning to try and finish 1 book in my reading challenge "Next Door Saviour". I'm waiting for a new book to arrive though, so I may start that one as well or wait untill Ive finished reading "Next Door Saviour".
Marie Moreton The night I woke up and heard my baby daughter singing in the hallway of my hotel room. I got up to go and get her and put her back in her travel cot, wondering how on earth she managed to climb out of it. She wasn't in the hallway, I paniced and searched the rest of my room for her, the I saw her fast asleep in her travel cot. So, if it wasn't my baby daughter I heard singing in the hallway, then who was it?
Marie Moreton For me to deal with writer's block I first have to figure out why I have writer's block, then decide I decide on the best sollution accordingly. For example, if I'm tired then I stop writing and take some time to rest or do something completely different then go back to writing later when refreshed. Or if I discover that there is somthing niggling inside me distracting me because I have repressed it, then I stop and deal with that first to get it out of the way. Sometimes I find that haveing a regular set aside time that I dedicate to writing only in a relaxed chilled out way seems to keep my creative juices flowing and reduces the "blocks", as I find myself looking forward to these "chilled out writing only" times and I am in a better frame of mind and spirit to recieve inspiration.
Marie Moreton It's hard to choose just one best thing about being a writer. For me, some of the best things are because I get to do something I really love doing, then I get to share it with other people and in doing so I sometimes make a possitive difference in people's lives. For example, recently, I had a phone call telling me about how some of my poems helped a mother and her dieing daughter. The mother read the poems to her daughter before she died, both mother and daughter found the strength and enouragement they needed at that time. I was so humbled and blessed to know that my poems had touched these two preciouse lives in such a way. So, perhaps I should say touching peoples lives in a possitive way should be the best thing about being a writer.
Marie Moreton My advice would be to always write about what you know and what you are passionate about and don't be afraid to share a little (not too much) of yourself in what you write when it's appropriate to do so. I have found that doing these 3 things seems to make me and my work more genuine, believable and connectable to people and I have had some very possitive feedback.
Marie Moreton I am currently working on another book of my poems and photos that have been inspired by some of the places I frequently visit in Pembrokeshire.
Marie Moreton Generally, I get inspired to write by things that have some kind of impact on me, like life, nature, people, God and more. I also get inspiriation by being still and watching and listening to everything all around me. I will often have a camera and a book and pen with me to record any inspiration I get.
Marie Moreton I got the idea for this book simply because I found myself writing poems to go with some of the photos I took of the beautiful places and nature that I see. Also, many people who read my poems said that I should put them into a book. So, I started work and soon "Full and Overflowing" was born.
