It would be Middle Earth. I was mesmerised by the descriptions as an eleven year old and longed to be able to live somewhere I could just 'walk' for thousands of miles, no borders no people, (I was an unhappy teen...)

My Great great Grandmother's life and death. She divorced her husband in a spectacular fashion in New York She then cut a swathe across Europe and came back with a 'husband' and a crate of old master paintings. What happened in Europe? How did she come by so many great paintings and for whom was she importing them into the US? She then died suddenly. Were the paintings hers as she claimed? How did she die? Was she murdered?

I love reading, but I always feel an intense sense of loss when the story ends. When I finish writing, on the other hand, the story goes on, the characters stay with me, I know what happens next.

A screenplay of mine, which had been acquired, but not made by a production company, came back, (the rights to it), to me and I decided to turn it into a novel. It is an historical thriller, based on real events and in fact most of it, (the most scandalous parts) are true. It is a shocking story and I hope I do it justice.

I am about to publish my next book, "The Cardinal's Sin", an historical thriller. The book I am working on is book 4 in the China 12 series, it has a working title, "the farms of the desert" and it follows on from th last shocking book, "the Dogs of Lamu, and the China 12"
