Stephanie L. Jones Essentialism, Live Your Dash, Leaders East Last, Doing Busy Better...what book am I not reading this summer? I'm on the library waiting list for 11/22/63 by Stephen King. It was recommended by a friend who is an avid reader. I can't wait to dive in!
Stephanie L. Jones Noah and Ally from The Notebook. They were not a perfect couple, but they worked on their relationship and followed through on their commitment to each other.
Stephanie L. Jones I write. I know what you might be thinking. How can you write if you have writer's block? To help with writer's block, I start writing with no limitations, no topic, just words. It isn't pretty, most likely will never be published, but writing freely never fails me and before I know it, I've knocked down the writer's block wall!

Save ideas. Another way I get around writer's block is delving into a file of saved topics. I'll scroll through the list I've jotted down, and when one catches my eye, I'll snag it and start writing.
Stephanie L. Jones Good question! For me, making a difference. I write to reach one person. It's always my goal that whatever I write, the person that needs to read it does. I'm always amazed at the power of words and the impact words can have on others life. Choose your words wisely. I strive for 100% positivity.
Stephanie L. Jones Write. I'll give you the same advice author Suzie Eller gave me, "If you want people to take your writing seriously, you have to take your writing seriously."

Read. I'm a slow reader, but I still knocked out 57 books in 2016. I learn so much by reading books. I highlight and take notes. Reading will make you a better writer.

Professional Development. Go to a conference, take a class, or read books on writing. I went to my first writer's conference in 2015, and I still refer to my notes. In 2016 I started Compel Writers Training, and I have learned so much! In 2017, I want to attend She Speaks.

Set a Goal. Do you want to write daily? Once a week? 500 words a day? Write a book? Start a blog? Whatever you want to do with your writing, establish a specific goal, make a plan and then carve out time in your schedule to accomplish your goal.
Stephanie L. Jones I have lots of books I'm working on, but my word for the year is FOCUS! I have started books on leadership, another on giving, but this year I want to finish my book about being a police wife.
Stephanie L. Jones Everyday life inspires me to write. Something will happen, and I'll feel an overwhelming urge to write it down. It didn't use to be that way. Getting The Giving Challenge out was a struggle, but I never gave up. If you have a book in you, start writing and don't quit until it's published!
Stephanie L. Jones The idea for The Giving Challenge came from my own giving journey. On January 1, 2011, I set out to give a gift every day for a month, then a year, and I kept going for over 500 days. Daily giving changed my life, and I knew my stories could help others change their life and impact thousands through giving!
