My advice is don't be afraid of your work and don;t be afraid to submit your work. Most of all don't under sell yourself. If you are self-publishing think of your work as more than some of the other 99 cent books offered on Amazon.
Be positive about your stories. Your stories are your own and there is an audience for your story. It could take some time to find your audience but persistence will pay off and you will be overjoyed when that first sale comes along.
