This is quite a long story, so I will synthesize into a couple of sentences. I loved “Choose Your Own Adventure” books as a kid and thought how cool it would be to have more interactive ebooks like that, but for grown up readers. After I did a little exploring, I realized as a grown up, I didn’t so much care as a reader about making the choices, but as a writer, I became obsessed with envisioning how different choices would unravel over time. So I started to draft a timeline, then another timeline, and then characters and meetings and dates and places, and eventually I was too engrossed to stop. A Dōjini novel — one where the stories happen “at the same time” —was the result.

Do soap opera couples count? I love Jack & Jennifer, Laura & Luke, Cruz and Eden and am always trying to find books that reflect that excruciating sense of "will they or won't they", "when will they?", "Oh no, they didn't!", "Oh yes, they did!", over and over again. You get the idea.
