Corina Bishop If I could travel to any fictional book world the kid in me would have to choose the world of Harry Potter. While I was there I would probably want to explore Hogwarts castle and go shopping at Diagon Alley.
Corina Bishop I would have to say that my favorite fictional couple would be Paul Atreides and Chani from Frank Herbert's book Dune. I can't really pin point what it is exactly that draws me to them. I've read the book about a dozen times and watched the movie probably more than that.
Corina Bishop The idea for my most recent book titled Undying came to me while I was in college during one of my night classes. My teacher was droning on about something. I will admit I wasn't paying attention to him at all. I was mostly just trying to keep my eyes open and was doodling in my notebook. At some point the words just started developing in my brain. I knew how I wanted the story to begin and how I wanted it to end. By the time class was over I had the first two chapters.
Corina Bishop I am not really sure if there is a specific thing that inspires. I have always made stories up in my head and if it sounds good enough I write it down. Most of my ideas come to me usually in the middle of the night while I am trying to go to sleep. I can't count the times that I've gotten comfortable and ready to nod off just to jump back up to scribble something down.
Corina Bishop I am currently working on a sequel to my first book Undying. I have several other working titles on paper but I am trying to focus on one series at a time.
Corina Bishop The way I deal with writer's block is by focusing on something else entirely. Maybe I'll pick up a book or listen to one on tape while I do house chores. Sometimes I'll go outside and just enjoy nature. If need be I will leave the material alone for several days to a week and then comeback and sit down with new eyes. I have found over the years that my mind works best when I busy my hands with other things. Washing dishes, folding laundry, doing outside chores on my farm. And if all else fails I zone out on the T.V. or play some video games.
